Hillary has practiced law since 1995, beginning predominantly in litigation and transitioning to intellectual property law in 2001. Hillary is a registered patent practitioner and strategist in patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters, and has managed large international portfolios, conducted and supervised international trademark clearance and prosecution, and drafted numerous intellectual property agreements. She is also an experienced litigator, having served first chair in patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret cases. Hillary is also a trained mediator.
Hillary has extensive experience in procuring state, federal and foreign trademark registrations. She has worked on hundreds of trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, and numerous patent inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial & Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Hillary also endeavors to counsel clients on all of their options.
Prior to beginning her IP practice, Hillary worked for Legal Services of North Texas where she represented low income clients in state and federal court. Hillary still applies the lessons she learned from the early days in her practice —taking a holistic approach to client representation, striving to find the most efficient resolution, and vigorously advocating for her clients, even when greatly outsized by their opponents.
Outside of the office, Hillary enjoys reading, travel and supporting her children in their many endeavors.
